Hotel Review: Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport – Direct Airport Access, Ideal for Early Morning & Late Night Flights and TGV Connections

In December, European streets become increasingly festive with Christmas decorations, creating an uplifting seasonal atmosphere. This time, I planned a weekend trip from London to Paris. As always, I chose to stay within the Hilton portfolio. I usually stay at Hilton Paris Opéra (you can find my latest stay review here), but on this trip, all three hotels I stayed at were different. The first stop was Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. In this article, I will share a detailed review of my stay at Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, accompanied by photos. In particular, the “How to Get There” section carefully explains parts of the airport that…

Lunch in Le Progrès Marais

Lunch in Le Progrès Marais

During my stay in Paris, the first place I wanted to visit was Rue Vieille du Temple, north of the Marais. As usual, you can go by subway from the Hilton, but this time I decided to take the bus. Paper tickets (carnets) were phased out in Paris transport systems last year and replaced with Navigo cards. Because of this, I realised that using Navigo cards and Google Maps would make travelling by bus much easier. After visiting all the shops in the area, I wanted to take a break, and I ended up going to a brasserie that made such a good impression, I decided to have a meal…

Review: Hilton Paris Opera (2024)

Review: Hilton Paris Opera (2024)

A new year has begun. What aspirations have you set? When in the area aims to maintain Diamond membership this year as well. I have plans to revisit places where I’ve stayed before and liked them, but there are also some new hotels I’d like to try. Please look forward to reading about those on my blog. Well, my first Hilton stay in 2024 was at the Hilton Paris Opera, just like last year. The reason why I go out of my way to visit Paris during the coldest time of the year is to enjoy the winter sales. It usually starts on the second Wednesday of the new year,…

Review: Hilton Paris Opera (2023)

I commemorated becoming a Diamond member of Hilton Honors at the end of 2022 with a stay at the Hilton Paris Opera. We left London on the Eurostar early in the morning, changed to the RER E line at Paris Nord Station, and arrived at the hotel before noon. Even though it was well before the check-in time, the room was arranged immediately. I have stayed here several times before (here is the link our latest stay), but this time I was surprised by the extravagant floor plan of the huge room we were upgraded to. I was also able to enter the lounge during happy hour. All of these…

Review: Hilton Paris Opera (2022)

We’ve been visiting Paris twice a year recently, and the Hilton Paris Opera has become like a home away from home. As soon as you step inside the building from the bustling surroundings of Saint-Lazare Station, you will be instantly enveloped by a calm air. The hotel has a long history, but has had a sensitive refurbishment, the centrepiece of which is the radiant Grand Salon. Even when arriving late at night, relaxing on the deep, spacious sofas of the Grand Salon with a glass of your favourite beverage will dissolve any tiredness from a long trip. As expected in the heart of a historic city, the guest rooms are…

Review: Waldorf Astoria Versailles

Review: Waldorf Astoria Versailles

Versailles is a 40-minute train ride from Saint-Lazare Station, which is adjacent to the Hilton Paris Opera, and from there it is a 15-minute walk along the lime tree promenade to arrive at the Waldorf Astoria Versailles Trianon Palace.  The stately appearance is exactly why it is called a palace; the polished marble floor shines like a mirror, and the lobby makes one feel more like arriving at a grand social gathering than at a hotel. The rooms overlook the expansive grounds of the adjacent Palace of Versailles. Away from the hustle and bustle of Paris, you can relax and gaze out on the idyllic scenery, with the sounds of…
