On the north side of the Acropolis, the old city of Athens, Plaka, spreads out like a castle town.

As you wander leisurely through the atmospheric streets, you won’t feel disorientated as glimpses of the Acropolis remain as your backdrop.

We decided to take a break at a cafe called Yiasemi. Tables are lined up on the outdoor stairs in front of the entrance, and it is very lively. We were walking around in the heat, so chose to sit on the shaded terrace in search of coolness. Houseplants are placed here and there, making it look like an oasis.

Please stop by on your way to and from the Parthenon, or while looking for souvenirs!

アクロポリスの丘の北側に、まるで城下町のように広がるのがアテネの旧市街、プラカ地区です。

雰囲気のある通りをあてもなくそぞろ歩く間も、通りの背後にアクロポリスの丘が見え隠れするので、方向感覚を失って迷うことはないと思います。

大分歩いたので、イヤセミというカフェで休憩することにしました。入口前の屋外階段にもびっしりとテーブルが並んでいて、とても賑やか。暑い中歩き回っていたので、涼を求めて日陰のテラス席に着席。観葉植物が所狭しとあちこちに置かれていて、まるでオアシスのようです。
