After leaving Châtel, we headed to Evian-les-Bains, a picturesque town on the shores of Lake Geneva. It takes about an hour by car, but we used the ski bus and the train, so we had to take a break in the town of Thonon-les-Bains on the way. ‘Les bains’ is French for hot springs or baths. ​You can view the bus timetable from Châtel to Thonon-les-Bains on this external site. At the bottom of the site, you can download the timetable. I commemorated becoming a Diamond member of Hilton Honors at the end of 2022 with a stay at the Hilton Paris Opera. Review: The Caledonian Edinburgh (2023)

From London, it takes four and a half hours by Azuma train to arrive in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. As if coming out of nowhere, the sound of bagpipes seems to constantly drift through the hustle and bustle of the city, stirring feels of travel and discovery! I’ve been to Edinburgh many times, but it’s a city so full of charm that I always want to visit again.
