Review: Hilton Evian les Bains

After leaving Châtel, we headed to Evian-les-Bains, a picturesque town on the shores of Lake Geneva. It takes about an hour by car, but we used the ski bus and the train, so we had to take a break in the town of Thonon-les-Bains on the way. ‘Les bains’ is French for hot springs or baths.

You can view the bus timetable from Châtel to Thonon-les-Bains on this external site. At the bottom of the site, you can download the timetable.

Needless to say, Evian-les-Bains is famous for its mineral water, and there is also a spa facility that uses Evian water.

Next to the spa complex is the Hilton Evian-les-Bains, where we stayed. The view from our upgraded room was already great, but the lounge on the top floor had a fantastic panoramic view of Lake Geneva. Occasionally, you can see the ferry connecting with Lausanne on the opposite bank.

Evian is a small town, but it’s perfect for spending time after a long day of skiing, by strolling around the lake, going to Source Cachat to fetch Evian water, and relaxing at the hotel’s spa. Don’t forget to visit the Evian Shrine that was built outside the spa!
