Sweet Alchemy｜スイート・アルケミー

If you get off at the nearest station to Hilton Athens (Evangelismos) and go in the opposite direction from the hotel, you can go to Lycabettus Hill. From the hilltop, you can see a fantastic view over all the city of Athens. Fashionable shops are dotted here and there in the elegant residential area that spreads out at the foot of the hill.

From among them, the one that caught my eye the most was Sweet Alchemy, a pastry shop.  I did a thorough preliminary inspection before climbing Lycabettus Hill, but when I entered the store, I could not decide from one to another.  But enjoying this time of hesitation is also the real pleasure of coming to a sweets shop.

I took the cake I chose back to the hotel and slowly enjoyed the fragrant nut and chocolate flavors.

ヒルトン・アテネの最寄駅エバンゲリスモスを降りて、ホテルとは反対方向に進むとアテネ市街がぐるっと見渡せるリカヴィトスの丘まで行くことができます。その麓に広がる瀟洒な住宅街には、お洒落なお店がそこかしこに点在していました。

その中でも一際目を惹いたのが、スイート・アルケミーという洋菓子屋さん。リカヴィトスの丘に登る前にしっかり下見をしておいたのに、いざ店内に入ると次から次へと目移してしまいなかなか決められません。でも、この迷っている時間を楽しむのが、お菓子屋さんに来る醍醐味でもあるんですよね。

選んだケーキはホテルに持ち帰って、香り豊かな木の実とチョコレートの風味をゆっくり堪能しました。
