Explore the Venetian islands by vaporetto
I recommended Lost Property St. Paul’s London partly because it was convenient to get to Gatwick Airport. After talking with a friend, we decided to go on a short trip to Venice for the first time in four years. From Venice Airport, take a bus to the main island of Venice, and from there you can enjoy Venice’s famous vaporetto .

Looking at the slowly changing cityscape from the vaporetto makes you feel like you’ve entered a dream-like world of aesthetic beauty. Especially along the Grand Canal, everything in view is so perfectly beautiful that you wonder if it is otherworldly.

Near the Rialto Bridge, a gentleman wearing sunglasses and a suit was riding in what appeared to be a private vaporetto, making him look like 007.

Just as I thought about it, there were construction vehicles, transportation ships, garbage collection ships, and ambulance vaporettos a little further from the main island. It makes me realise that canals are also fundamental for logistics and the flow of people.

Useful Information
The official website of ACTV, the Venice Municipal Transport Authority, provides the latest route map. On the left-hand side of the map, you’ll find vaporetto route numbers such as 1, 2, and so on. By clicking on a route, you can view the full list of stops and the line it follows. Alternatively, you can click on a specific stop to see which routes serve that stop.

In addition, a mobile app is available for smartphones, provided by AVM, the company that manages ACTV services.
