Review: Hilton Paris Opera (2024)

Review: Hilton Paris Opera (2024)

A new year has begun. What aspirations have you set? When in the area aims to maintain Diamond membership this year as well. I have plans to revisit places where I’ve stayed before and liked them, but there are also some new hotels I’d like to try. Please look forward to reading about those on my blog. Well, my first Hilton stay in 2024 was at the Hilton Paris Opera, just like last year. The reason why I go out of my way to visit Paris during the coldest time of the year is to enjoy the winter sales. It usually starts on the second Wednesday of the new year,…

Review: Hilton Milan (2023)

When I was a student, I toured various cities in Italy and boarded a train bound for Germany at Milan Central Station. Although I only saw the station during the short time I had to change trains, it remained my impression of Milan for the next 20 years. I chose Milan for a weekend trip this time because I wanted to walk around the city in all its glory before Christmas, and I also wanted to take another look at the architecture of the train station. Review: Hilton London Canary Wharf

In December, I get pretty busy with Christmas parties at work, plans to meet up with close friends one last time in the year, and Christmas shopping on top of that. For when in the area, it is also a busy time to ensure enough Hilton stays to maintain Diamond membership for next year. That’s why I decided to go to Milan for this weekend trip in December. I booked an early morning flight on Saturday from London City Airport, so I stayed at a hotel near the airport the night before. When I took an early morning flight to Geneva in July, I stayed at the DoubleTree, but this…

Review: Conrad Tokyo (2023)

Towards the end of our trip, we moved from Yokohama to Tokyo and came to Conrad Tokyo to spend our last few days there. We boarded the Tokaido Line at Yokohama Station and arrived at Shinbashi Station in no time. Since I stayed there last year (2022), I was looking forward to staying there again this year. As a Diamond member, I was able to enter the lounge for the first time. It was around noon, and I hadn’t checked in yet, but I was able to see a clear view of Tokyo Bay from my seaside seat. During cocktail hour, this view becomes a beautiful night scene that spreads…

Review: Hilton Yokohama

Review: Hilton Yokohama

I came to Hilton Yokohama, which just opened in September 2023. I was surprised that it was completely different from the Yokohama Station area that I remembered. The building itself has just been completed, and everything is brand new, making it feel like you’re visiting the city for the first time. The interior has a black and white palette, with gold decorative metal accents, creating a calm atmosphere with a sense of luxury. The interior of the hotel is unified in an Art Deco style, and the patterns on the carpets and the elegance of the lighting are captivating. Our guest room was upgraded and we were given a river…

Review: Hilton Nagoya – Renovated Executive Lounge and Diamond Member Benefits

Originally published in November 2023, updated in May 2026 Our next stop after Kyoto was Nagoya. Thanks to Japan’s high-speed Shinkansen, the journey takes just 40 minutes. No sooner had I settled into my seat and started replying to a few emails than we were already arriving. As an aside, Japan is home to several cities with populations of well over a million, all connected by an incredibly efficient high-speed rail network. Trains depart at astonishingly frequent intervals. When I lived in Japan, I took this for granted. But now, having travelled from the UK, I find it genuinely remarkable. In this review, I’ll share my stay at Hilton Nagoya,…
