Review: Conrad Tokyo (2023)

Towards the end of our trip, we moved from Yokohama to Tokyo and came to Conrad Tokyo to spend our last few days there. We boarded the Tokaido Line at Yokohama Station and arrived at Shinbashi Station in no time. Since I stayed there last year (2022), I was looking forward to staying there again this year.

As a Diamond member, I was able to enter the lounge for the first time. It was around noon, and I hadn’t checked in yet, but I was able to see a clear view of Tokyo Bay from my seaside seat. During cocktail hour, this view becomes a beautiful night scene that spreads out below you.

The upgraded room was an executive room on the top floor. The ceilings are higher than on other floors, making the rooms feel larger. This time as well, I was able to take a dip in the pool and sauna at Suigetsu Spa for a change of pace. During this visit to Japan, I was quite busy every day, so it was very valuable to be able to take some time to relax back at the hotel.

Furthermore, the breakfast, which I was looking forward to, was just like last year, and it was wonderful, from the presentation to the wide selection. The morning sun shining brightly, which is almost impossible to see at this time of year in the UK, was so refreshing that even after leaving the breakfast venue, I found myself in the lounge again. On the last day, before heading to the airport, we had one last cup of tea in the lounge and prepared for our departure.

Useful information

The breakfast is by far the best among all the hotels I’ve been to, so don’t miss it. In addition to the buffet style, you can choose your favourite dishes from the menu, such as egg dishes. The seats at the Chinese restaurant China Blue are open during breakfast, and it seems like higher status members are guided to seats with a better view.
