Review: Hilton Nagoya

Review: Hilton Nagoya

After leaving Kyoto, our next destination was Nagoya. It only takes 40 minutes on the Shinkansen. Japan has many cities with millions of people, and they are all well connected by high-speed railways. Furthermore, the frequency of Shinkansen departures is unbelievable. I thought it was normal when I lived in Japan, but coming from England, it seems completely surprising. Contents AccessCheck-in and Tea TimeRoomExecutive Lounge and SpaBreakfast Access I took a taxi from Nagoya Station because I had a lot of baggage, but if you’re travelling light, you can easily get there on foot. Review: Hilton Tokyo Odaiba (2023)

After booking my flight to Japan, I decided to make the Hilton Tokyo Odaiba my first stay in Tokyo as usual (here is the link of our 2022 stay). Contents AccessCheck-in and executive loungeRainbow Bridge View RoomSpa and pool Access The limousine bus from Haneda Airport was back in operation, and we arrived at the hotel before check-in time. You can have a look a the timetable here. If you arrive later after the bus service has ended, I recommend taking a taxi rather than trains, as the hotel isn’t too far from the airport. Note that taxi drivers usually take the highway, which adds a surcharge. You can ask…

Review: Hilton London Gatwick Airport

Contents AccessCheck-in and executive loungeRoomRestaurantBreakfast Access There are several ways to get to Gatwick Airport, but here we will explain how to get there by train. The Hilton Gatwick Airport is really useful when taking an early morning flight from Gatwick Airport, located south of London, as well as a convenient place to explore East Sussex from. This time, I planned to use this as my base and visit nearby cities over the weekend. After work on Friday, I headed to London Bridge station on the Thameslink line. I moved to Gatwick Airport station among the commuters, and after walking around the airport for a while, I arrived at the…

Review: Hilton Molino Stucky Venice

In Venice, we stayed at the Hilton Molino Stucky Venice. As you travel along the Giudecca Canal on the vaporetto, you’ll notice a large building on Giudecca Island that catches your eye: it’s a Hilton hotel that was renovated from a former flour mill. The inside of the hotel is so vast and labyrinthine that it is no exaggeration to say it’s easy to get lost. Contents AccessRoomObservation bar and restaurantExecutive LoungeBreakfasstUseful Information Access Hilton Molino Stucky Venice is located on Giudecca Island, far from the main island of Venice, so you will need to take a vaporetto. Review: London Hilton on Park Lane

After a short trip to Venice, we returned to London. The accommodation I recommended to a friend was the London Hilton on Park Lane. There are now many Hilton hotels in London, but this was the first Hilton hotel in the UK, opened in 1963. (By the way, the Hilton opened in Tokyo in 1963.) To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the hotel’s opening, renovations were said to be underway for the autumn of 2023, although the lobby had already undergone its transformation when we visited. Contents AccessRoomExecutive LoungeUseful Information Access The easiest way is to take the Piccadilly line from Heathrow Airport, get off at Hyde Park Corner station,…

Review: Hilton Geneva

Review: Hilton Geneva

Geneva is a compact city where you can move around easily, especially from the airport to the city area. The Hilton hotel was just a short distance from the airport using the shuttle bus. We arrived much earlier than check-in time, but thankfully a large room was made ready for us immediately. I was a little tired from the early start in London, so I rested for a while. When we were ready, we started walking around town. In Geneva, hotels give their guests a city transportation card which is valid for the duration of their stay. It can also be used on trolleybuses, which are rarely seen in Japan….
