Review: Hilton Milan (2024)
It’s late January, and although the days are getting a little longer every day, I still can’t really feel the difference. As the days are short and the weather tends to be cloudy, it’s easy to feel depressed, so I’ve planned a ski trip again this year to enjoy the fun that can only be found in winter.

The night before a ski trip
When I visited Milan last month (December 2023), the tourist information centre recommended a ski resort called Bormio, which is close to the Swiss border. Although you can get there within a day from London, I wanted to stay in Milan again for one night, so I stayed at the Hilton Milan just like last time.
Access
Last time I arrived at Linate Airport, but this time was Milan Malpensa. Looking down from the plane, the Alps were covered in silvery white snow, fuelling my expectations. After completing immigration, I took the Malpensa Express to Milan Central Station. Milan Central Station is a 5-minute walk away.
Room
It’s only been a little over a month since my last stay, but during that time renovations have begun on some of the guest rooms, and perhaps as a result, the lounge had been moved to the ground floor next to the breakfast room. Our room was upgraded to an executive room. I was able to spend a comfortable time in the spacious room.
Breakfast
At breakfast, I didn’t notice it last time, but I thought it was typical of Italy that other guests seemed to be ordering their coffee according to their preferences. At most hotels, you often have a choice of coffee machines that make an Americano or espresso, but here, a barista brews coffee for each customer.
I’m usually a tea person, but I took the opportunity to order a soy milk cappuccino. I always look forward to breakfast at the hotel because it allows me to relax while travelling. A cup of coffee made my breakfast even more satisfying than usual.
