Review: Conrad Tokyo (2022)

Many of Tokyo’s famous hotels are adjacent to Japanese gardens. Prince Hotel and New Otani are famous places for those in the know.

The Hamarikyu Gardens is in front of the Conrad Tokyo, where I finally had the opportunity to stay. I have visited the garden several times before, but this was the first time I saw the garden from the hotel.

Our guest room was stylish and sophisticated, and although the room was on a high floor, the atmosphere was surprisingly quiet and calm. When you go to the pool at the spa after the sun goes down, the skyscrapers of Shiodome can be seen shining in the darkness, creating an oasis in the heart of the city.

The next morning was a perfect autumn day, and we were sat at a table overlooking the garden for breakfast. I was able to enjoy a very fulfilling breakfast while bathing in the pleasant morning sun. The garden is full of lush green trees, and the Sumida River continues to sparkle as far as Odaiba.

After staying at two hotels in the city recently (Hilton Tokyo Odaiba and Conrad Tokyo), I was reminded again that Tokyo is a city which is open to the sea. I would definitely recommended the Conrad Tokyo for those who want to enjoy a view to the sea that is different from the more conventional views of the Tokyo Tower or Sky Tree.
